（中央社記者唐佩君台北8日電）外交部今天表示，針對援助敘利亞難民議題，將在國家財政能力許可範圍下，協調民間組織，提供必要協助，以善盡國際成員責任。
根據聯合國統計，敘利亞自2011年發生內戰以來，數百萬難民跨境逃離，近期大批難民湧向歐洲，而近日1張敘利亞難民小童伏屍土耳其海灘的照片震驚全球後，部分歐洲國家決定敞開大門迎接難民。
外交部今天表示，關於近日受國際社會關注的敘利亞難民議題，中華民國做為「國際人道援助的提供者」，自敘利亞爆發內戰迄今，持續密切注意並透過相關館處了解當地國家需求，提供多項人道援助 。
由於目前中東情勢持續緊張，難民處境亟待國際伸援，外交部指出，提供人道關懷與援助是活路外交政策主軸之一，因此政府將秉持人飢己飢，人溺己溺人道精神，在國家財政能力許可範圍下，協調民間組織，提供必要協助，共同善盡國際成員責任。
外交部說明，自2013年至2015年，中華民國政府為照護中東地區難民及貧民，透過駐外館處與相關國家、政府間國際組織及非政府組織的密切協調合作，提供組合屋、醫療器材、太陽能充電照明燈組、水井修復、糧食以及心靈輔導等援助項目，相關援助成效獲得國際社會正面肯定，有效提升中華民國國際形象。1040908
